On the early morning of 8th November 2013, the strongest typhoon on earth locally named as "Yolanda" (International name Haiyan) made a landfall in Guian, Samar. and afterwards hit the islands of Samar, Cebu, Panay, and islands in northern Palawan.
The town of Guiuan in Eastern Samar and Tacloban City in Leyte was hardest hit by Typhoon Yolanda.
