Photo Journal of the intersection of EDSA - North Avenue - West Avenue,
23rd May 2010
Last 23rd May 2010, since I was in EDSA Quezon City for some business matters, I decided to visit the Bantayog ng mga Bayani. I reminisce my very little participation in the nationalist struggle for justice during the Martial Law years, since most of the time I was sailing the seven seas during that time. I offer my prayer to those heroic Filipinos.
It is located along Quezon Avenue near the corner of EDSA, quite near to Centris building and MRT 3 Station.

The Nameless
by Jose Lacaba
(Although there are 151 names engraved on the Wall of Remembrance, there are 2000 more in the Bantayog files, awaiting more adequate documentation. But there are even more – tens of thousands, whose names are not known especially poor people in remote villages who gave their lives in the struggle for justice and democracy…To them we dedicate the poem of Bantayog Trustee Jose Lacaba)
Walang mukhang madaling tandaan
Walang mukhang madaling tandaan
Subalit sila’y naglingkod sa sambayanan
Kahit na hindi kinukunan ng litrato
Kahit hindi sinasabitan ng medalya
Kahit hindi hinaharap ng panguio
Sila’y naglilingkod sa sambayanan
Walang hinahangad na luwalhati o gantimpala
Kundi kaunting kanin at ulam,
Kaunting pagkakakitaan
Kahit walang pangalan
Kahit walang mukhang madaling tandaan
